Carl Durden/ Senior Pastor   

Carl Durden, our Pastor, is a native of West Monroe, Louisiana.  He is married to Cindy who teaches kindergarten at Highland Elementary School.  They have two children, Aaron and Candace.  Aaron, married to Jessica, is a graduate of Texas A&M University and just recently received his Master’s Degree.  He is employed by ING.  Their daughter Candace graduated from the University of Texas in Austin and is employed with “Mom’s Best Friend.”  (That’s right, we are a house divided-“Hook em Horns”/”Gig em Aggies”.)  Carl pulls for whoever is winning!

 Education has played an important part in Carl’s life as he graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Lamar University; and is currently a student at Havard School of Theology in Houston.  He has been on staff at churches in Bridge City, Pasadena, Houston, and Nederland.  Being initially called to the Music Ministry, he has also served as a Minister of Youth and an Education/Administration Minister.

The highlights of the pastoral ministry for Carl are preaching and being a pastor to those in need.   Carl’s passion is seeing people come to a saving knowledge of Christ and watching their lives grow to bear fruit by loving and serving others. 

Carl plays racquetball, attempts golf, watches sports, enjoys music, reads a lot since he is in school and has sermon preparation each week, and loves spending time with his family.
